BSA participates in ITU global AI, climate innovation sessions
Prominent worldwide experts and assessors participated in two sessions of the project, where start-ups from different nations showcased creative artificial intelligence-based solutions to environmental and climatic concerns.
According to Dr. Al Aseeri, the program offered a unique chance to examine the most recent advancements in applying AI to address climate issues, which complements the BSA’s endeavors to utilize cutting-edge space technologies for environmental sustainability.
He continued by saying that the project has a direct connection to space technologies: it employs satellite data in artificial intelligence (AI) applications for environmental monitoring; it creates novel ways to track emissions and climate change through space techniques; and it highlights how important satellite imagery is for training AI models to forecast changes in the environment.
Dr. Al Aseeri clarified that the Agency’s team benefits from participation in the initiative, which helps plan its future initiatives, particularly in relation to forming strategic alliances with international start-ups that specialize in climate technologies and enhancing the national team’s capacity to use the most up-to-date and dependable technologies in AI applications for space data. He also emphasized the BSA‘s ambition to support Bahrain’s goals for environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation by enhancing its environmental and climate monitoring capabilities through the use of cutting-edge technologies.
The goal of the “AI Innovation Factory for Climate 2025” program is to find and fund creative AI-based solutions to sustainability and environmental problems while fostering inclusivity by aiding other nations.
