October 20, Manama (BNA): The weekly Cabinet Meeting was presided over by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at Gudaibiya Palace today.

With the deal reached to put an end to the fighting in Gaza, the Cabinet congratulated the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit on its success.

Leaders from more than 20 nations participated in the summit, which was hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt and attended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It was co-chaired by His Excellency Donald Trump, the president of the United States, and His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the president of Egypt.

The Cabinet emphasized that today is a historic day for peace, regional security, and stability as a result of the decision to cease the fighting in the Gaza Strip. In order to guarantee future regional security and stability, the ceasefire emphasizes the efforts of regional and international actors to create a durable peace. The Foreign Affairs Minister’s report on the subject was also examined by the Cabinet.

Under the auspices of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Cabinet praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the third Asian Youth Games, which will begin on October 22. In order to ensure the success of this significant event, the Cabinet emphasized the assistance of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). The Cabinet also praised the work done by the different government agencies and departments that were involved in the preparations.

In response to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, giving the Ministry of Labour instructions to offer three job opportunities to each registered Bahraini job seeker by the end of 2025, the Cabinet thanked the private sector for its constructive contributions.

In light of this, the Cabinet further expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Labor for its hard work and prompt execution of these recommendations. The Cabinet also praised the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) for aggressively promoting employment objectives and the Kingdom’s growth by facilitating employment possibilities.

The Cabinet praised the community’s collaboration and involvement in National Tree Week, demonstrating the Kingdom’s understanding of and dedication to sustainable development and environmental preservation. In this regard, the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture submitted a memorandum to the Cabinet for assessment.

In honor of United Nations Day, the Cabinet congratulated the organization and reaffirmed the significance of its ideals.

The following memorandums were then examined and approved by the Cabinet:

1. A letter about a proposed decision to restrict electric car recharging that was presented by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs.

2. A document on the establishment of a joint committee for bilateral cooperation that was filed by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs. It concerns a single model for draft agreements between the governments of the Kingdom of Bahrain and other nations.

3. A document regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Works and the Project Management Institute (PMI) in the United States of America that was submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs.

4. A letter regarding the expropriation of several properties for public use in order to make room for urban development was presented by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.

The following memoranda were then examined by the Cabinet:

1. A memo regarding the quarterly report on building permit numbers for the third quarter of 2025 that was presented by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.

2. A note on the results of the regional workshop on the Joint Plan of Action for One Health (OHJPA) that was provided by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.

The following ministerial reports were then noted by the Cabinet:

1. The results of Bahrain‘s attendance in the 80th United Nations General Assembly session.

2. The results of Bahrain’s attendance at the Leaders’ Meeting in Munich.

3. Bahrain’s participation in the 29th Joint Council and Ministerial Meeting and its results.

4. The results of the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council’s Executive Committee’s regular meeting

5. The results of Bahrain’s involvement in the Saudi International Rail Conference and Exhibition.

6. The results of the Works Minister’s formal visit to the State of Kuwait.

7.⁠ Bahrain’s participation in the 6th Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers and its results.

8. The results of Bahrain’s involvement in the 72nd session of the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO).
