She emphasized the significance of this international event as a chance to draw attention to the critical role that tourism plays as a conduit for human communication, a means of promoting intercultural understanding and harmony, and an essential driver of the national economy as one of the most promising areas of Bahrain‘s overall development.

The Minister emphasized Bahrain’s dedication to growing the tourism industry in accordance with sustainable development goals, which aligns with this year’s subject of “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.” She pointed out that in an effort to strike a balance between the expansion of tourism and environmental preservation as well as the preservation of cultural and historical assets, hotels, tourism facilities, and transportation services are investing more in environmental sustainability. In order to help international efforts to meet sustainable development goals, she continued, Bahrain is increasing tourist investment and extending regional and international partnerships with top tourism organizations.

The minister emphasized that the Tourism Sector Strategy (2022–2026) offers a road map for the industry’s advancement, fortifying Bahrain’s position as a major international tourism destination, diversifying tourism offerings, boosting tourism’s GDP contribution, and generating high-caliber employment opportunities for Bahraini talent through creative projects in collaboration with the private sector.
