In separate incidents, the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, in collaboration with Customs Affairs and an air cargo company, arrested 19 people of different nationalities in possession of roughly 16 kilograms of narcotic substances valued at over BD 113,000. This was announced by the Ministry of Interior as part of the Directorate’s efforts to protect society from the scourge of drugs.

The Directorate added that following obtaining information about the incidents, search and investigative activities were performed, resulting to the identification and arrest of the suspects in possession of the narcotics.
According to the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, the cases were presented to the Public Prosecution, legal actions were initiated, and the seized materials were confiscated.
By hosting talks and exhibitions to increase awareness about the fight against drugs, the Criminal Information Directorate emphasized the value of maintaining community partnerships with organizations and all groups. Additionally, it encouraged the public to assist the security authorities by reporting any information about drug promotion or smuggling via the hotline (996) or via email at 996@interior.gov.bh, which guarantees total confidentiality.
