September 17, Manama (BNA): In the presence of Lulwa Al Awadhi, the SCW Secretary General, and Osama Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) opened a Women’s Support Office at the Mubarak Kanoo Comprehensive Social Centre in Sanabis. In keeping with its mandate, the Council intends to improve services for Bahraini women by establishing support offices in social development centers located throughout the country’s four governorates.

The Minister praised the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their ongoing support of women’s development during the opening. Additionally, he praised Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the SCW President and Consort of HM the King, for her efforts to promote Bahraini women’s accomplishments both domestically and abroad.
The Minister emphasized that by providing direction, advice, and assistance to improve women’s active engagement in society and tackle the obstacles they encounter, the new office is a crucial step in Bahrain’s continuous efforts to empower women.
Al Awadhi thanked HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and HM the King for their unwavering encouragement, support, and direction in helping Bahraini women succeed in all spheres of life.
She underlined that the office supports the Council’s ongoing initiatives to offer an integrated setting that attends to women’s needs, makes services more accessible, and fortifies cooperation with government agencies in order to promote women’s empowerment and advancement. The office would provide a variety of services, monitor women’s needs, address grievances, and help women access government services, she continued, with continuous assessment to guarantee the greatest possible impact.
To provide Bahraini women with all-encompassing care, the office is manned by specialized SCW staff, including family counseling specialists, who collaborate with the Ministry of Social Development and other government agencies.
