In the presence of several officials and the club’s CEO, Yousif Osama Buhejji, the group examined the current afforestation efforts at the club’s premises.
The minister confirmed that a comprehensive national strategy aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and creating green infrastructure throughout government projects and institutions serves as the roadmap for Bahrain’s efforts to increase the amount of green space.
He pointed out that community partnerships and policies in line with the National Afforestation Plan, which aims to plant 3.6 million trees by 2035, are supporting these initiatives.
Al Mubarak affirmed the significance of preserving an integrated green environment that strengthens the club’s position as a premier sporting and tourism destination while highlighting the progress made under the direction of His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister at the Court of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the REHC High Committee.
According to the ministry, the visit is part of its effort to increase the number of trees planted in public areas and government buildings, which will help with sustainability, environmental protection, climate change mitigation, and the Sustainable Development Goals’ carbon neutrality target.
Noting that the afforestation plan improves the club’s environmental, agricultural, and aesthetic development, Buhejji reaffirmed the club’s support for national projects. In favor of sustainability and environmental preservation, he praised the ministry’s efforts to carry out the plan and increase tree planting throughout the Kingdom.
