Manama, July 13 (BNA): The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf introduced an electronic marriage contract service as part of continuous government initiatives to improve service quality and re-engineer public services.
Justice Ministry launches electronic marriage contract service
With the help of the new service, licensed marriage officials can use smart tablets to finalize marriage contracts. The parties can access the contract electronically after it has been certified by the appropriate Sharia Court and attended by all parties and witnesses.
Through the complete digital transformation of the process, enhancements to the user interface and user experience, streamlined processes, and the substitution of electronic forms for paper application forms, the service has decreased processing time by about 70%. Electronic recording of all data will increase the service’s effectiveness and accessibility.
The electronic marriage contract service will be implemented gradually, with a number of licensed marriage officials utilizing the system in the early stages, according to Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Majbel, Assistant Undersecretary for State Issues and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf.
He continued by saying that the service allows couples to receive a printed copy of the marriage contract paperwork if they so choose, but it replaces paper-based procedures with a wholly electronic process for finalizing marriage contracts.
Over 1,300 government services have been recorded, translated, and published as part of continuous government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services; approximately 800 services are currently undergoing development and re-engineering across several government sectors.
The National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, secret shopper surveys assessing government services, the introduction of guidance manuals, and service level agreements serve as the foundation for this.
These initiatives enhance the government’s digital transformation process, strengthen beneficiary experiences, improve procedural efficiency, and improve service quality.
