Manama, May 5 (BNA): As part of an organizational initiative to issue the cards within Bahrain prior to departure to the holy sites, guaranteeing preparedness and expediting procedures upon arrival, the Bahrain Hajj Mission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has started distributing Nusuk cards to pilgrims through licensed tour operators.
Bahrain Hajj Mission begins distribution of Nusuk cards to pilgrims
According to Dr. Mohammed Taher Al Qattan, Deputy Head of the Bahrain Hajj Mission, pilgrims must have a Nusuk card in order to enter the Grand Mosque and holy sites during the Hajj season. He advised pilgrims to carry the card at all times, protect it, and use its digital counterpart when necessary, pointing out that it allows access to authorized services.
According to Dr. Al Qattan, the distribution process, which will serve 4,625 pilgrims from Bahrain and cover all 23 licensed tour operators, will start today and go through Thursday, May 7.
He pointed out that the pre-departure distribution of Nusuk cards is being carried out for the second year in a row, demonstrating the measure’s success in improving pilgrims’ preparedness and lowering the number of processes that must be completed upon arrival at the sacred places.
Next Thursday, the first set of mission committees will leave Bahrain for the holy sites, followed by the remaining teams to finish preparations, greet pilgrims, and offer services, according to Dr. Al Qattan. He confirmed that all mission committees are ready to perform their responsibilities and offer assistance to guarantee Bahraini pilgrims’ comfort during the Hajj season.
