The unit heard the testimonies of 19 complainants and witnesses in relation to the statistics of its activity during this time. It questioned sixteen individuals and accused members of the police force. Additionally, the investigations required the referral of six complainants to the Forensic Medicine and Psychological Support Division. These measures were implemented in accordance with established guidelines and procedures for victim care, evidence gathering, and recordkeeping.
Regarding the accomplishments of the Unit during the previously indicated time frame after investigations into a detainee’s death were completed, the Unit reported the accused, while in detention, to the High Criminal Court. The inmate died as a result of the accused’s assault, according to the evidence. On May 4, the first trial session took place.
Two police officers were disciplined as a result of the judicial procedures in one of the cases. This was because there was evidence that they had broken the law and should have been held accountable.
