Manama, April 30 (BNA): The Chief Executive Officer of the Social Insurance Organization (SIO), Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, praised His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision and the ongoing directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which put the people at the center of all development initiatives.

She also emphasized the continuous efforts made by pertinent authorities to improve the all-encompassing social protection system, which supports the stability of people’ lives and the long-term viability of the labor market.
According to Al Mannai, the SIO will start moving salary assistance payments for Bahraini insured private-sector workers for April from the unemployment insurance fund to employers’ accounts on April 30 when all legal and constitutional procedures are finished. This comes after the registration period ends on April 28.
In order to ensure broader access to the program, she announced an extension of the registration period, allowing applications for firms hoping to benefit until Tuesday, May 5. This will allow those who were unable to finish registration earlier to do so.
Al Mannai stated that all administrative and technological processes have been finished to guarantee that people who registered before the deadline receive their money on schedule. Strong participation in government efforts is demonstrated by the fact that 94.9% of eligible Bahraini insured private-sector workers benefited from the program, while over 86.6% of companies enrolled electronically.
According to regulations, employers are responsible for paying the wages of Bahraini insured workers in the private sector. She confirmed that payments will be made in accordance with the approved schedule, after deducting monthly insurance contributions for covered individuals, up to the insured wage ceiling.
