Transport Minister: Bahrain advancing meteorological services, monitoring capabilities

In keeping with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, he pointed out that Bahrain is creating early warning systems and improving monitoring capacities. He also mentioned that long-term sustainability and safety are supported by investments in observation systems.

According to him, meteorological services help important industries like aviation and maritime navigation by supplying information that helps with decision-making in a variety of weather scenarios.

In order to increase data accuracy and broaden geographic coverage, the minister stated that the Meteorological Directorate is carrying out a project to build new automatic weather stations this year.

He pointed out that the stations are always in operation, sending real-time data to the operations center while measuring temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, and rainfall. Continuous analysis, early warning systems, and short-term forecasting (nowcasting) are all improved by the data.
