Manama, March 18 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Moon Sighting Committee said that Friday, March 20, would mark the start of Eid Al Fitr and that Thursday, March 19, will mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH.

Moon Sighting Committee: Friday to be first day of Eid Al Fitr

The committee said in a statement that it met at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) on Wednesday, March 18 (29 Ramadan 1447 AH) in the evening to witness the Shawwal crescent.

For the year 1447 AH, Ramadan will end on Thursday after thirty days, and Eid Al Fitr will start on Friday since no sightings had been verified at the time the statement was released.

On this Eid Al Fitr, the SCIA congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, members of the Royal Family, Bahrainis, and the Arab and Islamic countries.
