September 7, Manama (BNA): The cutting-edge research vessel “Al Mesaha 2050” was inaugurated by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on behalf of Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
On behalf of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Interior Minister inaugurates advanced research vessel “Al Mesaha 2050”
The vessel’s inauguration represents a significant turning point in the Survey and Land Registration Bureau’s (SLRB) National Strategy, which aims to create a trustworthy national data system to aid in strategic decision-making and assist economic development initiatives.
With the backing of the government headed by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa spearheaded the development and modernization process, and Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah expressed delight in its accomplishments. He reaffirmed that, in accordance with the Government Program, Bahrain’s security and stability are essential for drawing in investment and achieving sustainable development goals.
In order to monitor and safeguard the marine environment, improve the safety of navigation routes, and promote sustainable development, the Interior Minister emphasized that the launch of Al Mesaha 2050 represents the deployment of the newest systems and AI-supported technology.
In addition to creating mechanisms that support the national economy through the preservation of natural resources, strengthening marine reserves, and putting programs in place that ensure a secure maritime environment, Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah emphasized that Bahrain offers a safe and alluring environment for both domestic and foreign investments, supported by stable and adaptable legislation.
The president of SLRB, Basem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, emphasized that Bahrain is still carrying out infrastructure and sustainable development projects that support the Kingdom’s overall development in all areas, under the direction of HM the King and with the approval of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He clarified that the vessel’s inauguration marks a significant turning point in the bureau’s qualitative transformation by creating a reliable national data system that aids in strategic decision-making, supports economic development initiatives, and supports the goals of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the Government Programme 2023–2026.
The building of Al Mesaha 2050 supports the real estate industry, one of the main non-oil sectors in the Kingdom, and contributes to efforts to improve the exploration and management of maritime sands, guaranteeing their best use as a natural resource. In the development of infrastructure projects, it also helps to draw in investments and promote productive collaborations with the private sector.
A documentary chronicling SLRB’s success over the past 100 years, including significant events and accomplishments that have bolstered the country’s surveying system and aided Bahrain’s development, was screened as part of the occasion.
The most recent depth measurement technologies, geophysical surveying tools, and sophisticated laboratories for seabed investigation and sand sediment monitoring were among the advanced capabilities and technological systems of the ship that were explained to the attendees. The ship has integrated artificial intelligence (AI) applications for real-time data analysis and decision assistance, high-precision navigation tools, tidal and current measurement technology, and 3D survey systems.
