October 21, Manama (BNA): The Cybersecurity Lab was established at the Nasser Center for Science and Technology (NCST) headquarters in Khalifa City in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). In order to safeguard Bahrain’s digital infrastructure, this project aids the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national initiatives to improve cybersecurity and develop qualified domestic staff. It is in line with the national cybersecurity plan, secure digital transformation, and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Nasser Centre for Science and Technology launches Cybersecurity Lab
The lab provides cutting-edge instruction using lifelike simulations to provide students the tools they need to defend against online attacks and create incident response strategies. It fosters continuous cybersecurity advancements both domestically and globally and aids in training skilled workers to safeguard digital infrastructure.
According to NCSC CEO Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the lab’s inauguration is a significant milestone in strengthening institutional collaboration and building national skills to meet digital problems. He pointed out that it shows dedication to secure digital transformation and the national cybersecurity plan.
According to Dr. Abdulla Nasser Al Nuaimi, CEO of the NCST, the lab offers a state-of-the-art training environment to address contemporary security concerns, demonstrating the center’s dedication to developing education and technology. By equipping Bahraini professionals to defend institutions against cyber threats and promote technological innovation through hands-on training and expert simulations, the lab helps national digital security, he continued.
The first program offered by the lab was a specialized class on developing cybersecurity skills that included hands-on cloud security training with Terraform and AWS. Participating were national specialists from key industries, such as banking, health, telecommunications, transportation, and energy. The Information and eGovernment Authority, Supreme Council of Health, Bapco Energy, Bayan-Batelco, Bahrain Kuwait Bank, and Bahrain Airport Company were among the organizations that took part.
Through cutting-edge technical and educational programs, the NCST continues to promote Bahrain‘s knowledge economy and equip the next generation with the skills and confidence to spearhead the digital revolution and realize the vision of leadership. The center wants to make the Kingdom a technological sciences and cybersecurity hotspot for the region.
