September 19, Tokyo (BNA): The Bahrain Space Agency and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in the space industry during the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s official visit to Japan.

In front of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Bahrain, and Hiroshi Yamakawa, President of JAXA for Japan, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

The Chief Executive of the Bahrain Space Agency, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, emphasized the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dedication to developing its space industry and strengthening its own capabilities in this exciting area by forming alliances with top international organizations and taking advantage of their experience.

According to him, the MoU would broaden the scope of bilateral collaboration in fields like training, expertise sharing, collaborative projects, and research and development. Along with other pertinent areas that support the sector’s growth and sustainability, it will also encourage scientific and technical cooperation in peaceful space research, aid in the expansion of the space industry, and improve outreach, education, and capacity building.
