October 6, Manama (BNA): Under the direction of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and in accordance with the comprehensive development goals set forth by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, which is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, continues to keep an eye on the status of road projects. The committee’s main goal is to increase the effectiveness and caliber of services provided by the traffic network throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects: Completing 82% of road projects in Government Plan 2023-2026
According to a report from the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, all development initiatives are tracked primarily using the government’s 2023–2026 program. The program emphasizes the necessity of securing long-term funding, expediting the delivery of infrastructure services, and putting into action a comprehensive strategy to build roads and expand their capacity.
Road projects are the primary emphasis of the committee’s pragmatic strategy, which is centered on seven major categories with 42 priority. It facilitates a seamless transition from design to execution, operation, and maintenance by improving coordination across ministries and other government agencies to guarantee precise decisions, prompt problem-solving, and high-quality results.
The committee keeps an eye on performance metrics, analyzes plans and procedures on a regular basis, and makes sure projects are completed by the deadline. In the Ministry of Works’ roads sector, these efforts have produced noteworthy outcomes. With committee monitoring and leadership backing, 102 out of 125 projects were completed.
To reach 82% of the ministry’s plan by 2026, 23 initiatives are presently under way. This demonstrates effective expenditure, prudent resource allocation within the authorized budget, timely allocations, cash flow alignment with project progress, and strong collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and National Economy to assure financing sustainability.
The high completion rates result in notable changes on the ground, such as improved traffic flow, shorter daily commutes, cheaper transportation costs for both consumers and businesses, and increased appeal for investment, tourist, and residential regions.
By implementing safe design guidelines and offering other routes, these projects help increase road safety.
The spirit of Team Bahrain, which is founded on skill, accuracy, and commitment, is reflected in the hard work of the Works Ministry teams and associated organizations.
With an emphasis on providing high-quality services and serving the Kingdom and its citizens, Bahrain will soon begin new projects to further improve traffic flow, increase economic activity, and fulfill the aspirations of its citizens. These projects will be guided by the national vision led by His Majesty the King and directives from HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
