Manama, Aug. 28 (BNA): World Athletics’ Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) met with the Bahrain National Anti-Doping Organization (BNADO).

BNADO, AIU discuss strengthening anti-doping cooperation

In keeping with Bahrain’s strong commitment to the ideals of fair competition and clean sport, the meeting focused on enhancing coordination and collaboration in the fight against doping in sports.

The national anti-doping strategy and the agency’s recent accomplishments, such as receiving international recognition from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as an independent national authority in implementing international standards, were reviewed by BNADO CEO Saad Mubarak Al Nefaie. He also emphasized the establishment of strategic alliances both domestically and abroad as well as the execution of awareness, education, and testing initiatives.

He described the AIU as a crucial strategic partner in the achievement of BNADO’s strategy and its ambitious objectives to combat doping, and he praised the organization’s crucial role and significant efforts in preserving sports integrity.

The head of AIU, Brett Clothier, praised BNADO‘s efforts in safeguarding Bahraini sport and the advanced level attained by the organization, and he expressed his desire to further strengthen the two sides’ collaboration.

In accordance with WADA guidelines, both parties committed to enhancing collaboration, sharing information and experience, and utilizing global best practices.
