October 28, Manama (BNA): The national organ donation campaign, according to Brigadier General Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services (RMS) and Chairman of the Central Committee for Transplantation of Human Organs, represents the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dedication to compassion and solidarity and gives patients in need new hope.

Since the transplant program began in November 2023, King Hamad University Hospital has successfully completed 54 kidney and 19 liver transplants, according to Gen. Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa. This accomplishment is a testament to the skill of Bahraini medical teams and the leadership’s ongoing support.

He stated that in addition to awareness campaigns promoting community involvement in organ donation, the RMS is attempting to grow the program through partnerships with top international centers, innovative surgical technology, and advanced training.

The program, according to Gen. Dr. Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa, is a long-term humanitarian effort that aims to save lives and solidify Bahrain’s standing as a regional leader in organ transplantation.
