Manama, Feb. 8 (BNA): The International Accreditation Service (IAS) has granted the Public Health Laboratories ISO 15189 accreditation, demonstrating its superiority in reference testing for viral infections such as influenza, measles, rubella, and emerging viruses.

The certification strengthens the laboratory’s standing as a regional reference center and demonstrates the team’s dedication to excellence and professionalism, according to Amjad Ghanem, Head of Public Health Laboratories at the Ministry of Health.
Updating the quality management system, training employees, reviewing standard operating procedures, conducting internal and external quality evaluations, and having IAS specialists evaluate the facility on-site were all part of the accreditation process.
