October 25, Manama (BNA): After impressive results in Muay Thai and mixed martial arts, the Kingdom of Bahrain now has six medals from the 3rd Asian Youth Games, which are sponsored by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Six medals boost Bahrain’s tally at Asian Youth Games

Three golds, one silver, and one bronze round up the total, which shows how far Bahraini teams have come in the competition.

Eldar Eldarov defeated Kadirdinov of Kyrgyzstan to win gold in the 60kg mixed martial arts division. Abdulakim Babaev then defeated Hassan Al Qahtani of Saudi Arabia to win gold in 65kg. Ibragim Khalidov defeated Ibrahim Al Baraa of Saudi Arabia handily to win a third gold at 70 kg. After a close match against Sanzhar Kartay of Kazakhstan, Sultanakhmed took home the silver at 65 kg.

Tanishi Bhowmick placed third in the under-51kg division of Muay Thai, making it to the semi-finals before falling short against Pimlapat of Thailand, giving the Kingdom another podium result at the Games.
