Kuwait, Jan. 18 (BNA): The Bahraini men’s national handball team defeated China 40-29 on Sunday to clinch their second straight victory in the group round of the Asian Championship presently taking place in Kuwait.

Bahrain also controlled the first half, taking a 10-goal lead at 20-10. The team showed organized teamwork and obvious tactical discipline as they took charge of the game right away.
Ali Khamis of Bahrain was selected the game’s Most Valuable Player in honor of his exceptional play and major contributions to the team’s triumph.
After defeating Jordan 32-21 in the first round, Bahrain now leads Group B with four points from two straight wins. Iraq defeated Jordan 26-21 in the same round, although the side has a better goal differential.
Tuesday at 4:00 pm, Bahrain will play its last group-stage game against Iraq.
