November 12, Riyadh (BNA): At the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, which are being held in Riyadh till November 21, the Kingdom of Bahrain added four new medals, bringing its total to ten—five gold, three silver, and two bronze—moving up to eighth place in the overall medal rankings.

After fierce competition that included Iraq’s Ali Ammar, Bahraini weightlifter Gor Minasyan won three gold medals in the over-110 kg division. With a lift of 213 kg, he won gold in the snatch, 247 kg in the clean and jerk, and gold overall. One year after winning bronze at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, his performance demonstrated his great technical abilities and made him one of the championship’s standout performers.

Esports competitor Sayed Hashem Ahmed won silver in Tekken 8 after an outstanding performance, earning Bahrain its fourth medal. He finished in second place after defeating Sultan Taheri of the United Arab Emirates in the first final but losing 2-0 against Raif Turkistani of Saudi Arabia in the second.
