October 21, Manama (BNA): Musco, a world leader in sports and infrastructure lighting, and Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,” today announced a new partnership that would provide young people in Bahrain with an opportunity to experience and learn more about racing.
BIC, Musco Lighting launch program to increase youth racing opportunities
The Musco Young Driver Development Program will be introduced at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) by BIC and Musco as part of the agreement. Young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in the top-tier grassroots motorsport facilities will be able to receive driving training.
At a signing ceremony at the BIC headquarters in Sakhir, the agreement was formally verified. In front of top management from both businesses, Jeff Rogers, CEO of Musco Lighting, and Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of BIC, signed the deal.
“Musco has worked with BIC on lighting projects since 2004, beginning with the drag strip,” Rogers stated. “We’re honoured to partner with BIC to support Shiakh Salman’s vision that every young person has the chance to experience karting and the life lessons learned through it.”
“Our shared commitment to giving back to the community is the foundation for the launch of the young driver program with Musco,” stated Shaikh Salman bin Isa. Being involved in international sports and entertainment, we both think it’s critical to harness the positive effects of sport to improve our local communities. The foundation around which this program will be built is that common passion.
Therefore, we are honored to be collaborating with Musco Lighting to train the next generation of drivers in the Kingdom of Bahrain. We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership and keep Musco as our chosen lighting supplier after working with them for many years as our specialist lighting provider.”
An entry-level program for Bahraini kids will be the first in the Musco Young Driver Development Program, followed by intermediate and advanced programs. Selected drivers will also get the opportunity to enter The Bahrain Rotax Max Challenge, Bahrain’s top competitive karting series, for free during the final stage.
Musco also becomes BIC’s Preferred Lighting Supplier under the terms of the new sponsorship deal. Since the beginning, Musco has been associated with BIC. Bahrain became a world-renowned night racing venue in 2014 as Musco added BIC‘s cutting-edge track lighting in addition to providing lighting infrastructure as part of the original construction, which was finished in 2004.
