November 10, Riyadh (BNA): Ingrid Grueso, a weightlifter from Bahrain, took home three new medals from the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She won two gold and one silver medal for the Kingdom of Bahrain in a single day while competing in the women’s 69kg division.

Grueso won the gold on attempted countback in the clean and jerk competition after lifting 128 kg, which was equal to Turkish competitor Nuray Güngör.
She had previously finished behind Nigerian athlete Islamiyat Yusuf, who won gold with 110 kg, and earned silver in the snatch with 106 kg. Grueso finished ahead of all competitors with a combined lift of 234 kg, adding her second gold in the overall total (snatch and clean and jerk).
With these accomplishments, Bahrain now has six medals from the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games: two gold, two silver, and two bronze.
