October 20, Manama (BNA): On the first day of the individual Teqball competition, which is a part of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, Bahraini player Ahmed Sharif won three straight games with just one defeat. Under the sponsorship of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the competition will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31.

Sharif demonstrated his dominating presence in the competition by defeating Gantsorig Chinngun of Mongolia in straight sets in his opening round (12-5, 12-4).
After an encounter that thrilled fans and onlookers, he proceeded in the second round, showcasing a high technical level and tremendous resolve to defeat Indonesia’s Dazu Em in two clear sets (12-10, 12-7).
Sharif continued his remarkable run in the third match, defeating Baracali Engleo of the Philippines in straight sets (12-8, 12-8), demonstrating his high level of preparation and spirit of competition.
The Bahraini player put on a steady and admirable performance on the first day, even if he lost his last match of the day in straight sets to Nasser Al Sagheer of Kuwait. His performance demonstrated the technical proficiency and high level of competition attained by the players on the national squad.
With a lot of confidence and ambition, Ahmed Sharif will continue his campaign in the next rounds with the goal of winning more matches and representing the Kingdom in this continental competition, which attracts many of Asia’s best players.
