August 28, Al Ain (BNA): The Bahrain Special Olympics earned an impressive three gold, one silver, and four bronze medals from their participation in the Special Olympics MENA Regional Equestrian Competition, which took place in Abu Dhabi from August 24 to 28.

Nayla Al Athem, a Bahraini equestrian, continued to excel at the regional and international levels by winning two gold medals in the English riding and jumping events in the (BI) category. Athlete Hamad Ismail, who participated in this event for the first time, placed third in the English riding (BI) and jumping competitions and won gold in the trail and control competition.

In the (A) division, athlete Ibrahim Al Ali placed third in the trail and control and jumping contests and won the silver medal in the English riding competition.

As part of continuous efforts to improve players’ preparedness to continue attaining sporting achievements at the regional and international levels, Bahraini athletes and coaches participated in regional training sessions for coaches and athlete leaders in addition to the competitions. These sessions were designed to foster skill development and expertise exchange.
