Nov. 15, Bangkok (BNA): At the Jiu-Jitsu World Championship in Bangkok, Bahrain’s national jiu-jitsu team took home seven medals, including two gold and five bronze.

Abdulla Shaikh Ali won gold in the under-56 kg (no-gi) youth category and added two bronze medals in the men’s and young under-56 kg (no-gi) events, while Pedro Bissi de Jesus won gold in the under-85 kg (gi) youth category. The remaining bronze in the masters and gi classes went to Dr. Ahmed Abdulhamid Al Aradi, Bader Jamal Al Doseri, and Essa Abdulaziz Abdulhamid.

His Highness His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s support for the sports industry was emphasized by Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council and Vice President of the General Sports Authority (GSA). Additionally, he praised His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), President of the GSA, and First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), for his contributions to the advancement of combat sports.

He complimented the technical and administrative staff for their work and praised the Bahrain Jiu-Jitsu Federation, led by Redha Ibrahim Monfaredi, for offering the team a friendly environment.
