BNA, Sulaymaniyah, October 15: The Bahrain national cycling team finished their participation in the Arab Road Cycling Championship, which took place from October 3–13 in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, with impressive achievements against elite riders from the host country of Iraq as well as the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Qatar.
Bahrain cycling team wins five medals at Arab Road Championship in Iraq
The Bahraini squad came home after putting up a strong performance that demonstrated the development of Bahraini cycling. The team won five medals in all, including two silver and three bronze, thanks to the efforts of up-and-coming Khalid bin Hamad Generation of Gold Cycling League athletes.
The Secretary-General of the Bahrain Cycling Association, Sayed Shubbar Hilal Al Wedaei, led the Bahraini delegation, which participated in the men’s, youth, and junior divisions. The delegation also included cycling technician Isa Ayoub, youth team manager Fares Hussain, and men’s team manager Aqeel Abdulameer Mohammed. The men’s team had Ahmed Nasser, Ahmed Abdulghani, Mahdi Hassan, and Sayed Ahmed Khalil as cyclists, while the youth team had Mohammed Hassan Jassim, Amer Saleh Al Khasham, Humoud Awad Al Farhan, and Abdulaziz Saleh Al Hamri, and the juniors had Hassan Aqeel Thamer.
