September 14, Manama (BNA): Dr. Nada Sarwani, Consultant Thoracic Anaesthesia & Advanced Airway Management at the Government Hospitals, has been authorized by the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) to serve as Bahrain’s first examiner for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC – Part I). Seventy doctors participated in the qualification exam, which was conducted at the Government Hospitals on September 12–13.

The CEO of Government Hospitals, Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, emphasized Bahrain’s dedication to developing domestic talent and giving them the opportunity to compete globally. According to her, the Kingdom’s first official examiner’s accreditation shows how well its investments in people have worked, and it also enhances Bahrain’s reputation in the world of healthcare by fostering tighter ties with top international organizations. Additionally, she stated that this promotes the objectives of sustainable development and aids in the ongoing enhancement of healthcare services.

Congratulating Dr. Sarwani, Dr. Al Jalahma called the accomplishment a significant milestone in Bahrain’s medical development. In keeping with the Kingdom’s long-term goals, she emphasized that it will support the expansion of international healthcare alliances, promote the sharing of knowledge, and enable Bahraini physicians advance their careers.

Dr. Sarwani was proud to get the certification, emphasizing that Bahrain’s continuous support of its medical personnel and faith in their ability to succeed were the reasons behind it.

She went on to say that her appointment as an examiner with ESAIC opens the door for Bahrain to host this international exam for the first time, allowing physicians in the Kingdom and the surrounding area to participate locally and enhancing Bahrain‘s position as a regional center for medical education and training in critical care and anesthesiology.
