August 31, Manama (BNA): Undersecretaries Shaikh Meshaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa of the Ministry of Works and Nawal Ibrahim Al Khater of the Ministry of Education visited a number of government schools that are presently undergoing extensive maintenance, such as Isa Town Secondary School for Boys and Bait Al Hikma Primary School for Girls.
Undersecretaries of works and education inspect maintenance projects in government schools
According to Shaikh Meshaal bin Mohammed, in order to get ready for the 2025–2026 school year, the Ministry of Works began maintaining 27 government schools over the summer vacation, spending a total of 9 million Bahraini dinars. Upgrades to the electrical, mechanical, and civil systems, repainting, door and window repairs, water and electrical system replacements, and the installation of heat-insulated windows and energy-efficient lighting are all included in the project.
Shaikh Meshaal bin Mohammed emphasized that as part of an annual plan to maintain building safety, enhance learning settings, prolong facility lifespan, and guarantee operational efficiency, the ministry works with the Ministry of Education to prioritize schools according to need.
Al Khater, for her part, emphasized the Ministry of Education’s continuous preparations for the upcoming academic year, emphasizing the installation of over 5,000 new air conditioners and the completion of maintenance for more than 29,000 existing units.
In order to protect the long-term quality of education, she emphasized that committed teams will guarantee their effectiveness and handle emergencies, and that all maintenance projects use premium, environmentally friendly materials in accordance with sustainability requirements.
