Members of the Royal Family, Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the chairman of the Higher Education Council and Minister of Education, and Alastair Long, the British ambassador to Bahrain, were present at the event.

According to Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah, one of the results of the all-encompassing development process headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the orders of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is the collaboration between the public and private sectors in promoting education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He pointed out that this collaboration is a useful instrument for enhancing education at all levels and equipping the country’s talent to compete and innovate in the job market.

He emphasized that by encouraging the private sector to form academic relationships with foreign universities, government investment in education, especially higher education, indicates the government’s commitment to creating an advanced learning environment. According to him, this supports Bahrain’s attempts to promote sustainable human development by broadening students’ knowledge, enhancing their university experience, and diversifying academic possibilities.

In order to improve the performance and competitiveness of higher education institutions, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the Higher Education Council’s role in monitoring and improving the quality of university education and making sure academic programs are in line with international standards. Additionally, he praised the British University of Bahrain for its initiatives to enhance the educational setting and create the conditions required for students to succeed.

He wished the graduates and their families continued luck in their future occupations and congratulated them.

Dr. Juma spoke at the event, emphasizing the tremendous advancements made in the Kingdom’s higher education sector under the direction of His Majesty the King and with the backing of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Reiterating the Higher Education Council’s support for all Bahraini higher education institutions in their quest for continued expansion and development, the Education Minister thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for attending the event and for his ongoing interest in the field of education.
