Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed emphasized that Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing its standing as a major regional and international aviation hub is reflected in the strategy. According to him, the strategy was created in cooperation with partners in the public and commercial sectors, and it was founded on the idea that national efforts must be integrated and coordinated in order to achieve lasting success.

According to the minister of transportation, the strategy’s main driver of sector growth is meeting market demands. He emphasized that its goals are to: create a fully integrated aviation ecosystem that complies with international standards; make Bahrain International Airport a world-class hub for commercial and private aviation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), and logistics services; and increase the number of air destinations from 66 to 100 by 2030, which will boost GDP growth and provide Bahraini citizens with excellent job opportunities.

The strategy’s implementation, according to Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed, will be supported by three key pillars: improving governance and regulatory excellence to guarantee safety while satisfying market demands; creating operational services to establish Bahrain as a top aviation destination; and making investments in infrastructure, sustainability, and the development of domestic talent.

The two-year strategy incorporates performance indicators and actionable measures to guarantee ongoing monitoring and assessment of its projects and programs, according to Husain Al Shuail, Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs.

The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, BeOnd Airline, and THC—the Helicopter Company—signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) during the launch event at the Awal Private Terminal to support the strategy’s objectives, increase air connectivity, and solidify Bahrain’s standing as a major regional aviation and logistics hub.

Senior officials and representatives from the public and private aviation industries attended the ceremony.
