Dec. 22, Manama (BNA): Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, announced the beginning of implementation procedures to provide housing services to citizens in compliance with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s orders to expedite the delivery of 50,000 new housing units and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to start providing 7,000 housing services. Allocating housing financing and transferring several ownership-service projects in housing cities are among the services that are planned.

The statement was made in conjunction with the 26th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Days, and the related national celebrations.

Minister Al Rumaihi thanked HRH the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and His Majesty the King for the leadership’s ongoing support of the social housing industry.

According to the Housing Minister, Bahrain is still dedicated to offering social housing services in accordance with the housing goals outlined in the Government Plan 2023–2026.

Regarding implementation, she stated that the ministry has started working with partner banks and finance organizations to distribute funds to recipients. In order to prepare for transfer under ownership services, she emphasized that technical and engineering teams have also begun identifying finished projects and those in advanced stages. She stated that beneficiary lists are being finalized and will be contacted in stages to finish processes using authorized means.

Minister Al Rumaihi continued, “The plan to provide 7,000 housing services includes a comprehensive package of financing and housing options, giving citizens greater choice and flexibility to meet their needs.” She emphasized that the ministry would continue to mobilize all efforts in the upcoming phase to speed delivery and accomplish the set goals, and that it is working to provide faster delivery of adequate housing through prompt services targeted to Bahraini families.
