Nov. 24, Manama (BNA): The first Student Agricultural Innovations Exhibition 2025 was opened at Bahrain Polytechnic by Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak and Minister of Education Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma.

The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) Secretary-General, Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, was in attendance.

Dedicated to intermediate and secondary school children, this exhibition is the first of its sort in the Kingdom. In addition to raising agricultural awareness and honing students’ scientific research and innovation abilities, it seeks to present their concepts and inventions in contemporary agriculture, agricultural technology, sustainability, and recycling.

Minister Al Mubarak confirmed that putting on this show encourages young people to be creative in important fields, including agriculture. He pointed out that Bahraini youngsters’ increasing understanding of the importance of innovation in bolstering the food security system is reflected in the high level of student involvement.

In keeping with Bahrain’s intentions to develop the industry using cutting-edge technologies, he continued, the students’ inventions show their capacity to provide useful, value-added solutions that improve agricultural sustainability. Additionally, he emphasized the students’ obvious excitement and curiosity, which bolsters faith in their capacity to support the agricultural growth of the Kingdom in the future.

Dr. Juma confirmed that the collaboration between Bahrain’s agriculture and education sectors is reflected in this show. According to him, encouraging students to take an innovative approach is a crucial component of growing the educational system and connecting it to national growth sectors.

He continued by saying that students’ involvement in this exhibition is a crucial step in empowering them to use their scientific knowledge in useful, development-focused projects, which helps create a capable generation ready to innovate in agriculture and science. He pointed out that this kind of collaboration helps the Kingdom achieve its aims for sustainable agricultural growth and fosters an atmosphere that is conducive to innovation and research.

Dr. Juma reaffirmed the Ministry of Education’s commitment to assisting student initiatives that offer an applied learning environment and assist in transforming concepts into practical projects that benefit the community and further the Kingdom’s development ambitions.

Numerous student projects were on display, ranging from cutting-edge farming systems and agricultural technology advancements to recycling and environmental initiatives. The top ten projects will be chosen to represent students at the Bahrain Animal and Agriculture Production Show (Mara’ee 2025), giving them a chance to interact with investors and specialized organizations and advance their concepts going forward.
