Manama, Mar. 27 (BNA): The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the appropriate authorities have started an inquiry into the murder of Mohammed Abdulmohsen Mohammed, 32, in response to social media posts that have been making the rounds.
Interior Ministry issues statement on death of detainee
According to the investigation, the deceased was detained by the National Intelligence Agency on espionage charges, specifically for giving the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps intelligence and information about vital national infrastructure with the intention of aiding attacks against the Kingdom. He was being held in accordance with a valid arrest warrant.
The Ministry goes on to explain that pictures that are making the rounds on social media that claim to depict the deceased’s injuries are false, deceptive, and have been purposefully shared to sway public opinion.
The Public Prosecution’s Special examination Unit has been tasked with carrying out a thorough and impartial examination into the circumstances surrounding the injuries and the cause of death.
