August 21, Manama (BNA): The Council of Representatives Speaker, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, emphasized the assistance provided to Bahraini women by the government, which is headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and includes Prime Minister and Crown Prince His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. In accordance with the Constitution and the National Action Charter, he pointed out that these initiatives have improved women’s involvement in national development.
Speaker commends Bahraini women’s achievements
In order to boost Bahraini women’s institutional position in national institutions and society, the Speaker emphasized the creation of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) as a significant turning point.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King, presided over the Council’s 24th anniversary celebration. The Speaker praised the Council’s contributions to increasing women’s participation, fostering international collaborations, and representing Bahrain in regional and international fora.
He emphasized the legislature’s dedication to collaborating with the Council to further the national strategy for women’s advancement, especially through initiatives and laws pertaining to women, families, and children.
Al Musallam also emphasized the leadership positions that women hold in national and international assemblies, as well as their contributions to diplomatic and parliamentary work.
The Speaker further praised the collaboration between the SCW and the Secretariat-General of the Council of Representatives, pointing to collaborative projects and programs that promote gender parity and professional growth in legislative work.
