Manama, Jan. 5 (BNA): In collaboration with the Information & eGovernment Authority, the Survey and Land Registration Bureau has introduced property registration and ownership transfer, as well as application status query and payment services via the National Portal bahrain.bh. This falls under the umbrella of bringing government services together on a single national platform and assisting in the execution of the Government Program (2023–2026), especially with regard to service digitalization and quality improvement.

The Bureau clarified that using the eKey and the updated eKey 2.0 is necessary to take use of the services that are offered. While the inquiry service enables users to monitor application status, make necessary amendments, and electronically pay fees, the property registration and ownership transfer application service allows users to easily and securely complete data entry and upload the necessary documents.

According to Survey and Land Registration Bureau President Basim bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, the introduction of these services through the National Portal is a calculated move in the Bureau’s continuous endeavors to improve digital transformation and expand the service ecosystem. He stated that a number of development initiatives have been carried out this year, such as improving digital infrastructure, creating geographic information systems and an electronic workflow system, switching to electronic signatures, setting up a remote service center, and strengthening integration with pertinent organizations involved in property registration procedures.

He continued by saying that the Bureau is now carrying out the second stage of development initiatives, which are intended to improve communication between public and private organizations involved in property ownership transfer and registration. In order to guarantee the provision of integrated, quick, and dependable services within an extensive digital government ecosystem, this will be accomplished through data unification, information exchange facilitation, and workflow route improvement.

Al Hamer noted that cooperation with the Information & eGovernment Authority helped to guarantee a seamless service transition and fulfill technical and operational requirements, demonstrating the dedication of government organizations to offering cutting-edge services that satisfy beneficiaries.

He added that a significant milestone in the digital transformation process was reached in 2020 when property registration services were first made available electronically through the Bureau’s website, allowing beneficiaries to finish their transactions without having to be present in person. In 2025, the Bureau’s website logged over 26,000 registration applications, he continued.

In keeping with the government’s goal of creating an advanced digital services ecosystem, he emphasized that this move is part of a continuing development strategy that aims to improve the quality of real estate services, streamline processes, and improve integration among pertinent institutions.
