Manama, Feb. 9 (BNA): As part of their collaborative efforts to increase community knowledge of environmental issues and encourage appropriate waste management methods, the Ministry of Social Development and the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) hosted a workshop for social centers.

“The workshop’s organization reflects the Council’s commitment to empowering families and the community to adopt positive environmental behaviors and enhance the role of individuals in reducing practices that negatively affect the environment, particularly in household waste management,” said Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the SCE. In order to establish a culture of environmental sustainability and increase awareness of the necessity of protecting the environment from within families, she emphasized the significance of addressing all facets of society.
The training covered topics such as resource conservation as a civic duty, a review of the Bahraini Zero Waste Initiative, and awareness sessions on smart replacement techniques and domestic waste management. It also covered the importance of eating at home and taking personal responsibility for shielding the environment from contaminants.
