Manama, Nov. 19 (BNA): General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Royal Police Academy Board of Trustees, was present at the graduation ceremony for the fifth and sixth batches of postgraduate students at the Royal Police Academy, which included representatives from the Ministry of Interior and other government agencies.

Major General Adel bin Khalifa bin Hamad Al Fadhel, the Deputy Minister of Interior; Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, the Chief of Public Security; His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Governor of the Southern Governorate; Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; and British Ambassador to Bahrain, Alastair Long, were also present.
One hundred graduates from Master’s programs in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics, Human Rights and Criminal Justice, Artificial Intelligence, and Disaster and Emergency Planning were among the two batches. In partnership with the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom, the Royal Police Academy offers several courses.
Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his ongoing support of the police, stressing the value of providing officers with humanitarian and strategic expertise to improve national security. He also highlighted the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and his ongoing support, pointing out their influence on operational preparedness and the quality of security services.
The Minister emphasized that the Master’s programs enhance the Academy’s curriculum by enhancing emergency and disaster preparedness, advancing cybersecurity and AI capabilities, and supporting human rights in law enforcement. He praised the graduates’ efforts in gaining expertise to support cutting-edge security services and congratulated them on their accomplishments.
The Commander of the Royal Police Academy, Major General Fawaz Al Hassan, thanked the Minister of Interior for his support, pointing out that the graduation demonstrates the close collaboration with the University of Huddersfield and the continuous investment in human capital and global expertise to improve the abilities of Ministry staff.
He emphasized the Academy’s dedication to empowering youngsters, expanding its influence across government sectors, and training Ministry employees. He emphasized how Bahrain’s policing has become much more modern and successful thanks to the Minister’s orders and extensive social, health, and professional support.
The University of Huddersfield’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Thornton, congratulated the graduates and emphasized the significance of the occasion for them and their families. He emphasized that this was the inaugural ceremony for the Master of Science in Security Studies program, which was created, approved, and provided by the institution.
The Master’s programs addressed specialized topics like cybersecurity, data extraction, and network security; artificial intelligence (AI) encompassed machine learning and autonomous intelligent systems; Human Rights covered legal knowledge, protection of civil freedoms, and international human rights law; Disaster and Emergency Planning concentrated on preparedness, emergency communication, and human responsibilities in crises.
A brief film highlighting the partnership between the University of Huddersfield and the Royal Police Academy in creating training and educational initiatives was screened during the ceremony.
Along with praising the Royal Police Academy for updating its academic and training programs and wishing everyone luck in serving the Kingdom, the Minister of Interior also recognized top graduates and urged all participants to keep performing national duty.
