In collaboration with BACA, Assouline Publishing releases “Bahrain Pearls: Treasures from the Land of the Two Seas”
The book is accessible in English at the Bahrain National Museum gift store, Assouline’s official website (www.assouline.com), and its shops across the world.
The history of pearling in the Kingdom is examined in depth in this book, which traces its beginnings to the Dilmun and Tylos eras (2200 BCE–300 CE). It draws attention to Bahrain’s position as a significant center for the production of natural pearls. The Pearling Path on the island of Muharraq, which was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012, is a symbol of this historical legacy. The location includes several natural and cultural features that illustrate the pearling economy’s cultural aspect.
The book also details the Kingdom’s remarkable skill and inventiveness in the production of exquisite jewelry, which is based on the collection of natural pearls from oyster beds that are well-known for their high-quality pearls. The book highlights the pearl trade’s rich cultural legacy and clarifies its significant significance as a fundamental component of Bahrain’s identity through vivid narrative prose and excellent photos.
