Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi said the ministry has finished allocating the first phase of projects under the residential plot and construction financing option, offered through the “Tasheel” program, across a number of developments in various governorates of the Kingdom. This announcement was made in Manama on October 21 (BNA).

Housing Minister: Second batch of “alternative options” plots to be allocated in November and December

According to the housing minister, plans are now in motion to implement 804 new housing services—such as building loans and residential plots—in phases throughout all governorates in November and December.

According to Al Rumaihi, the residential plot and construction financing scheme’s beneficiaries would start getting formal notices the next month, and the distributions will go on until the end of December. She stated that the ministry is dedicated to making sure that every receiver has a seamless and prompt experience.

She went on to say that infrastructure development is moving quickly throughout nine large housing developments that are included in the residential plot and building strategy. She pointed out that a sizable number of contracts for infrastructure services have already been given out, which would help to speed up completion rates and allow for quicker plot delivery to qualified residents.

The Housing Minister also said that as infrastructure projects in different regions of the nation develop to a more advanced stage, more residential plots will be made available in the program’s subsequent phase.

Plot distribution and handover are correlated with each project’s readiness, according to Al Rumaihi. Beneficiaries are asked to participate in a computerized draw to choose their plot after a project’s infrastructure is finished. After the plots are turned over, a BD 40,000 building loan is disbursed under the “Tasheel” program.

As part of its strategy to handle long-standing applications, the ministry has finished providing housing options for requests that date back to 2004 and earlier. These include ownership flats backed by a BD 3,000 grant and the entire BD 70,000 “Tasheel” finance package, which comes with a BD 10,000 non-refundable grant. The minister affirmed that citizens who choose this choice now have access to all qualified ownership flats.

In order to demonstrate its dedication to giving citizens decent housing and expediting access to the options that are available, Al Rumaihi emphasized that handling older housing requests continues to be one of the ministry’s top priority.

She went on to say that the ministry’s work in the present and future phases is still based on all housing applications, especially those from 2004 and before. In accordance with the objectives outlined in the Government Programme 2023–2026, she emphasized that the ministry is committed to broadening the scope of its housing initiatives and implementing more flexibility to guarantee that citizens receive their housing services as soon as feasible.
