September 21, Manama (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights’ (NIHR) chairman, Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, praised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s humanitarian efforts, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in fostering intercultural cooperation and advancing human values, solidifying its standing as a trailblazing example of compassion, peace, and coexistence.
NIHR Chairman commends Bahrain’s efforts in strengthening human values and global peace efforts
Al Derazi emphasized Bahrain‘s steadfast support for regional and global peacekeeping missions, which stems from its commitment to advancing human rights, tolerance, and coexistence. He praised the Kingdom’s well-balanced policies that support development and humanitarian projects in conflict areas, offer relief assistance, and participate in international peace and security discussions, all of which help to prevent and secure conflicts through active collaboration with the UN and other pertinent international organizations.
This occurred on September 21, the International Day of Peace, which this year also marks the 20th anniversary of the UN Peacebuilding Commission’s founding. As one of the biggest dangers to societal stability and lasting peace, the commission is crucial in stepping up UN efforts to address the underlying causes of violence, which include inequality, poverty, and discrimination.
In order to achieve stability and long-lasting peace, Al Derazi emphasized the NIHR‘s dedication to aiding peacebuilding initiatives by advancing a culture of human rights, bolstering the values of tolerance, and opposing violence.
In keeping with its duty to increase public understanding of the principles of respect and coexistence, he also emphasized the NIHR’s role in keeping an eye on and stopping actions that encourage hate speech, discrimination, or provocation.
