September 6, Manama (BNA): Along with Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Abdullah Ibrahim Abdulatif, the Head of the Southern Municipal Council, Isa Abdulrahman Al Buainain, the Director General of the Southern Municipality, and Ali Abdulhameed Al Shaikh, a member of the Municipal Council, Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, made a field visit to the Riffa Walkway development project in the Southern Governorate.

The project is expected to be finished by the end of this year, with about 60% of it already finished. The 36,018-square-meter project consists of 400 new tree plantings, resurfacing and painting asphalt, adding contemporary sports equipment, and updating public amenities, playgrounds, lighting, and shading structures.
As part of its larger objective to improve public amenities, like as parks, playgrounds, pathways, recreational spaces, and beaches, in accordance with international standards, the ministry has stepped up its greening initiatives.
