October 13, Manama (BNA): To launch the Enhanced Wages Protection System (WPS), the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) arranged a number of training seminars for human resources staff and representatives of large, medium, and small businesses. Employers in the private sector are required by the system to electronically pay wages through banks and financial organizations that hold Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) licenses.
LMRA holds training workshops on Enhanced Wages Protection System
According to LMRA, the WPS is a digital platform that connects the Authority to pertinent government agencies and the financial industry, guaranteeing precise data interchange and offering an extensive salary database. The system improves stability, boosts Bahrain’s competitiveness, and supports labor market reforms.
The Authority observed that the system reflects the financial and administrative efficiency of companies, guarantees compliance, and expedites wage payments. Through integrated payroll management, various payment options, and thorough salary and financial reporting, it significantly lessens the operational effort, especially for small and micro businesses.
The LMRA emphasized that the system helps lower labor disputes and financial claims, expedites their resolution, and offers legal verification of companies’ compliance. Employers in the private sector were encouraged by the Authority to designate a Wages Responsible Person using the Expatriate Management System (EMS), choose “Wages Protection Services,” and designate authorized representatives to examine and confirm wage files before submitting them.
The workshops are a component of LMRA‘s endeavors to enhance collaboration with private sector partners, increase knowledge of labor laws, and offer technical assistance for the successful deployment of the system.
