November 15, Manama (BNA): Board members and LMRA CEO Nibras Mohammed Talib attended the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), which was presided over by Yousif bin Abdulhussein Khalaf, Minister of Legal Affairs and Acting Minister of Labour.
LMRA Board reviews wage protection system, urges electronic salary payment
In accordance with Bahrain‘s Economic Vision 2030, the Government Plan, and the National Labour Market Plan 2023–2026, the board examined LMRA’s initiatives for 2025–2026 that sought to improve customer services, tighten oversight, and promote the labor market environment.
In order to meet industry demands and stay up to date with economic shifts, the meeting examined proposals to update labor market policies and supporting procedures. In order to strengthen service quality, competitiveness, and investment appeal, it also covered initiatives to increase operational efficiency, streamline procedures, and improve integration across government systems.
The board was informed about important development initiatives, such as the Wage Protection System‘s implementation progress and the alignment of all banks and financial institutions with its regulations. It emphasized how crucial the system is to upholding the rights of both employers and employees and fostering a safe and equitable workplace.
The board advised companies to adhere to electronic salary payment and utilize the system’s advantages in fostering stable labor relations at the conclusion of the meeting.
