The completion of this significant national project contributes to the Kingdom’s record of development accomplishments, and Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah congratulated His Majesty the King, HRH the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister.

The completion of Al Jasra station, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, represents a significant turning point in the growth of the country’s electrical infrastructure, which began in 1930 when Manama became the first Gulf City to get electricity. From the Ras Ruman station to the opening of Bahrain’s largest station, this expansion started under HH Isa Al Kabeer.

In order to improve national infrastructure and promote sustainable development, he continued, Bahrain has remained committed to modernization and development under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the orders of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

According to Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah, the project is crucial to improving the stability of the country’s electrical grid and boosting operational capacity to support investment and urban growth, enhance service quality, and effectively and dependably satisfy present and future demand.

Additionally, he stated that the project’s completion to international standards in collaboration with top international businesses demonstrates Bahrain’s sophisticated capacity to oversee and carry out significant energy projects, bolstering the country’s economy and drawing substantial investment.

The Deputy Prime Minister praised the skill of national teams and their cooperation with pertinent authorities while thanking Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, President of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), and the staff for their efforts in completing this strategic project on time and to high technical standards.

Kamal bin Ahmed, for his part, thanked HM the King, HRH the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister for their ongoing support, which has allowed the EWA to carry out critical projects and improve the sustainability and dependability of water and electricity services.

He also expressed gratitude to Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah for launching the project and closely monitoring it through the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects, which prioritized it and resolved obstacles to guarantee its timely completion.

The project, according to the EWA President, involved building a 400/220 kV transmission station at Al Jasra, installing about 120 kilometers of high-voltage 400 kV cables and around 96 kilometers of 220 kV cables, and integrating them into the national grid.

He continued by saying that the project improves grid stability and energy exchange efficiency by upgrading the Gulf Cooperation Council interconnection from 200 kV to 400 kV, increasing interconnection capacity with GCC countries from 926 to 1,359 megawatts.
