Manama, Feb. 10 (BNA): The Higher Committee for the Biometric Measurements System Project held its first meeting, which was presided over by Chief of Police Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan.

Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) were present at the meeting. There were also representatives from HJP Consulting, a specialized consulting business in biometric systems projects, and IDEMIA Public Security France, the project’s implementation company and a world leader in cutting-edge biometric solutions.

The Biometric Measurements System Project is a major qualitative step forward in the security environment, Lt. Gen. Al Hassan emphasized. He pointed out that, in accordance with the demands of digital transformation and development, the project reflects the strategic direction to implement the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, through the adoption of contemporary and cutting-edge technologies to improve institutional performance, enhance national security, and facilitate electronic services for citizens and residents.

He added that the initiative will improve coordination and regular follow-up procedures for all stakeholders, as well as strengthen integration among pertinent authorities.

In order to guarantee execution in compliance with the highest applicable standards and the effective accomplishment of the project’s strategic objectives, the Chief of Police emphasized the significance of coordinated efforts, teamwork, and rigorous adherence to agreed technical and implementation schedules.

The project’s technical scope and general framework were examined during the discussion. The authorized timeframe and implementation plan were also discussed, as well as the clarification of roles and duties among participating entities in order to improve governance, guarantee accurate and high-quality results, and ensure successful execution.
