Manama, March 28 (BNA): The third edition of the Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment received 1,774 entries from nations across the world, according to the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), in collaboration with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).

By the deadline of March 20, 2026, the total number of submissions had surpassed the total of 571 entries from all prior editions. UN Women statistics shows that there were 612 entries in the first edition and 591 in the second.
With 792 entries, civil society organizations received the most contributions, followed by people with 621, the corporate sector with 257, and the public sector with 104. Individual, civil society, and public sector entries exceeded those from the previous edition.
The award was established by the Kingdom of Bahrain in collaboration with UN Women with the goal of showcasing national projects, programs, and initiatives that encourage women’s empowerment around the world.
In accordance with the work plan overseen by UN Women, the subsequent stage will entail the screening and assessment of applications in collaboration with an international judging panel.
