November 13, Manama (BNA): The Hoorat Sanad project and the Al Wadi project in Al Buhair are both making steady progress in infrastructure and construction, according to Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning. She pointed out that these accomplishments are two of the ministry’s most significant initiatives in the Southern Governorate, carried out in collaboration with the private sector through the Government Land Development Rights Program.
Housing Minister reviews progress of Al Wadi and Hoorat Sanad projects
According to the minister, infrastructure work at the Al Wadi project is at 65%, while construction has reached 89%. At the Hoorat Sanad project, infrastructure work is at 13% and construction has reached 58%.
This occurred during the minister’s field tour to both locations, which was accompanied by representatives from the two projects’ developers, Al Saraya and Al Namal, as well as representatives from the ministry and Eskan Bank.
Al Rumaihi examined engineering projects, the infrastructure and construction phases’ execution timetable, and adherence to the established timelines during the visit. In order to better serve the needs of Bahraini recipient families, she also looked at project layouts and modified housing unit designs.
According to her, the advancements made are a result of the ministry’s close collaboration with the real estate developers involved in the Government Land Development Rights Program. Seven projects have already been completed throughout the Kingdom, she continued, and real estate firms are becoming more interested in placing bids for additional developments.
Al Rumaihi highlighted developments in the 76-unit Al Wadi project, which was created in collaboration with Al Saraya. According to her, infrastructural construction is moving along swiftly and the project is almost finished. At the Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector last April, she emphasized the ministry’s and the developer’s shared commitment to finishing the project on time, allowing for the early delivery of apartments to beneficiaries who made reservations through the “Baity” platform.
The minister stated that the 47-unit Hoorat Sanad project, which was created in collaboration with Al Namal, is making steady progress and speeding up development. In the upcoming weeks, the ministry will launch electronic off-plan reservations, she continued, and a demonstration unit is being built so that potential recipients of the housing financing program can examine the design prior to making a reservation.
According to Al Rumaihi, public-private partnership initiatives in the housing sector heavily rely on projects funded by the Government Land Development Rights Program. According to her, the program has increased the variety and scope of housing options available to people, providing more flexibility for homeownership according to family needs.
According to her, in accordance with the Government Programme 2023–2026, these initiatives seek to promote sustainable housing services and enhance quality of life through policies that bolster private-sector collaboration, expedite project completion, and address rising housing demand.
