October 26, Manama (BNA): By the third quarter of 2025, 2,322 new applications were granted to take advantage of the various possibilities within the Housing Finance Program, with a total financing value of BHD 149.679 million, according to Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi.
Housing Minister: Over BHD 630 million in housing financing disbursed as citizens embrace new funding options
She reported that since the program’s inception in 2022, over 18,000 applications have been submitted, 10,504 of which have been accepted, and that as of the third quarter of 2025, financing had been disbursed totaling BHD 630.139 million. The program’s rapid financing choices accounted for 81% of financing applications that were transferred from traditional housing services, she noted.
With more than 10,000 applications submitted under this category, Minister Al Rumaihi stated that the Tas’heel Aqari (Real Estate Facilitation) funding option continues to be the most popular among recipients.
She added that more than 600 applications have been submitted so far for the Tas’heel Plus option, which was introduced in April 2025 and has also seen high demand. The program’s advantages, which include a fixed monthly installment that is not subject to periodic adjustment and enhanced financing ceilings of BHD 81,000 and BHD 91,000 under two repayment plan options, encourage individuals to take confident steps toward buying suitable homes.
The Minister acknowledged that the growing demand for these financing options was a result of commercial banks’ and real estate developers’ collaboration in supporting the Housing Finance Programme. She pointed out that the Bayti real estate platform, which offers people an integrated experience from virtual home tours to booking, down payment, and finance fulfillment, all under one digital system, has made the process quicker and simpler.
Through successful collaborations like the Suhail Housing Project in Al Lawzi, Al Naseem District in Salman City, Al Wadi project in Al Buhair, and Hoora Sanad project in the Southern Governorate, as well as the project that provides more than 3,000 housing units in Khalifa City and other residential projects carried out by the Housing Bank, Minister Al Rumaihi also emphasized the role of Government Land Development Rights Projects in boosting interest in housing finance programs.
She emphasized that rising citizen demand for immediate financing options and the growth of public-private partnerships to provide affordable housing units that are customized to meet the needs of Bahraini citizens with housing applications are expected to drive further increases in the number of applicants and beneficiaries of the financing services during the fourth quarter of 2025.
